Authorship Criteria
Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan is committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in scholarly authorship. The journal follows the authorship principles of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and supports the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
Authorship Principle
All listed authors must meet the journal's authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript, and accept responsibility for their contributions. Gift, honorary, and ghost authorship are prohibited.
1. Authorship Requirements
To qualify as an author, an individual must meet all four criteria:
- Make substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Draft the manuscript or critically revise it for important intellectual content.
- Approve the final version to be published.
- Agree to be accountable for their contributions and cooperate in resolving questions about the accuracy or integrity of the work.
2. Author Contributions (CRediT Taxonomy)
Authors are required to disclose their individual contributions using the CRediT taxonomy, where applicable: Conceptualization, Methodology, Software, Validation, Formal Analysis, Investigation, Resources, Data Curation, Writing – Original Draft, Writing – Review & Editing, Visualization, Supervision, Project Administration, and Funding Acquisition.
Example: A.B.: Conceptualization, Methodology, Writing – Original Draft; C.D.: Investigation, Data Curation, Formal Analysis; E.F.: Supervision, Writing – Review & Editing.
3. Non-Author Contributions
General supervision, funding acquisition, administrative support, technical assistance, language editing, translation, or formatting alone do not qualify an individual for authorship. Such contributions should be acknowledged appropriately.
4. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author ensures that all eligible authors are listed, all authors approve the manuscript, the author order is agreed upon, and all required statements concerning contributions, funding, ethics, competing interests, data availability, and AI use are complete and accurate. The corresponding author also coordinates revisions, proofs, and post-publication communication.
5. Equal Contribution and Group Authorship
Equal contributions may be indicated in a manuscript footnote. Group or consortium authorship is permitted when individual contributors and their roles are clearly identified and the applicable authorship criteria are satisfied.
6. Generative AI and Professional Assistance
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Any use of AI-assisted tools must comply with the journal's Generative AI Policy and be appropriately disclosed. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content. Professional writing or editorial assistance should be acknowledged where relevant.
7. Changes to Authorship
Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission requires a written request from the corresponding author, a justification, and written agreement from all affected authors. Post-publication changes may require a formal correction notice.
8. Author Names, Affiliations, and ORCID
Authors must provide accurate names, institutional affiliations, and contact information. Affiliations should normally reflect where the research was conducted. All authors are required to provide an ORCID iD during submission.
9. Authorship Disputes and Integrity
Suspected gift authorship, honorary authorship, ghost authorship, or other authorship misconduct will be evaluated by the editorial team in accordance with recognized publication ethics principles, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
