Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit a manuscript to Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan are required to carefully follow these guidelines. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's scope, template, formatting requirements, or publication policies may be returned to the authors before entering the peer review process.

1. Manuscript Format and Length

Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Other file formats, including LaTeX and PDF, are not accepted as the main manuscript file.

The manuscript should be approximately 10–16 pages, including references, or approximately 4,500–6,500 words. Authors must use the latest official article template provided by Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan.

2. Article Organization

The manuscript should follow an IMRaD-based structure and contain at least the following sections:

1. Abstract
2. Introduction
3. Method
4. Results and Discussion
5. Conclusion
6. References
7. Acknowledgment (optional)

The organization and formatting of each section must follow the official journal template.

3. Article Title

The article title should be written in English, preferably around 16 words, and should clearly and specifically represent the main focus of the research or study.

The title should be concise, informative, academically appropriate, and avoid unnecessary words or expressions.

4. Author Information

The names of all contributing authors must be listed in the correct publication order. Each author's name should be written consistently and exactly as it is intended to appear in the published article.

Authors must provide complete institutional affiliations and valid email addresses. The corresponding author must be clearly identified. Institutional names should be written in full and should not use unclear abbreviations.

5. Abstract and Keywords

Authors must provide abstracts in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Each abstract should contain approximately 150–250 words and concisely represent the essential content of the manuscript.

The abstract should clearly present:

• Purpose – the main objective of the research or study;
• Method – the research design, approach, or method used;
• Findings – the principal results or findings; and
• Recommendations – the implications or recommendations derived from the findings.

Authors must provide 3–5 relevant keywords that accurately represent the main topics, concepts, or variables discussed in the manuscript.

6. Introduction

The Introduction should provide a clear scholarly foundation for the study. It should include:

• The main research or study topic;
• Relevant and recent literature, particularly literature published within the last ten years;
• A clear identification of the research gap, unresolved issue, inconsistency, or scholarly controversy;
• The research problem and purpose;
• The context and unit of analysis of the study; and
• A clear indication of the focus and direction of the article.

The Introduction should demonstrate the significance and scholarly contribution of the study rather than merely provide a general description of the topic.

7. Research Method

The Method section must clearly explain how the research or study was conducted and provide sufficient information to demonstrate the reliability and validity of the research process.

Depending on the research design, this section should explain relevant aspects such as:

• Research approach and design;
• Research setting or location;
• Population, sample, participants, subjects, or informants;
• Data sources;
• Research instruments;
• Data collection procedures and techniques;
• Instrument development, where applicable;
• Data analysis techniques; and
• Procedures for establishing the validity or trustworthiness of the findings.

For qualitative research, authors should provide appropriate information regarding the research setting, participants or informants, data collection procedures, duration of the research, and procedures used to establish the credibility or validity of the findings.

8. Results

The Results section should present the main research findings clearly, systematically, and concisely while providing sufficient evidence to support the conclusions.

Tables, figures, graphs, or other visual materials may be used when they improve the presentation of the findings. Authors should avoid unnecessarily repeating the same information in both textual and visual forms.

The findings should be appropriately interpreted and presented using clear academic language. Detailed statistical calculation procedures do not need to be reproduced when the relevant analytical results can be reported clearly.

9. Discussion

The Discussion should go beyond merely repeating the results. Authors are expected to critically interpret the findings and demonstrate their scholarly significance.

The Discussion should:

• Answer the research questions or problems;
• Interpret and explain the meaning of the findings;
• Explain how or why the findings were obtained;
• Relate the findings to relevant theories and established knowledge;
• Compare the findings with previous studies;
• Explain similarities, differences, or contradictions with previous research; and
• Highlight theoretical, conceptual, or practical contributions where appropriate.

Authors are expected to engage with relevant scholarly literature, including reputable international and national journal publications, to strengthen the academic discussion.

10. Conclusion

The Conclusion should provide a concise synthesis of the principal findings and directly answer the research problem and objectives.

The conclusion should not merely repeat the Results and Discussion. Where appropriate, authors may also explain the implications of the findings, recommendations, potential applications, or directions for future research.

11. Acknowledgment

The Acknowledgment section is optional. Authors may acknowledge institutions, organizations, individuals, or other parties that made a meaningful contribution to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.

Authors should also disclose relevant external research funding or financial support in this section.

12. Figures and Tables

All figures, graphics, diagrams, screenshots, photographs, and other visual materials must be clear, readable, and of sufficient quality for publication. Figures should be numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals and placed appropriately within the manuscript.

Tables should be editable and placed within the main body of the manuscript as close as possible to the paragraph in which they are first discussed. Each table and figure should be appropriately numbered, titled, and referred to in the text.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission when reproducing copyrighted figures, tables, images, or other materials from external sources.

13. References and Citation Style

Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan prioritizes manuscripts that rely on relevant scholarly journal articles, research reports, and conference proceedings rather than relying heavily on textbooks or handbooks.

The recommended reference composition is:

• 70% journal articles or other relevant primary scholarly sources; and
• 30% textbooks or other relevant secondary scholarly sources.

References must be carefully checked for completeness, accuracy, relevance, and consistency. All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.

The reference list should be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author in accordance with APA 7th Edition.

Authors are encouraged, where academically relevant, to engage with previously published articles in Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan. Citation of the journal's own articles should be based solely on their relevance to the manuscript and should not be used merely to increase citations.

14. Reference Management

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software to maintain consistency between in-text citations and the reference list. Zotero is recommended in the journal guidelines. Other reliable reference managers may also be used provided that the final citations and references fully comply with APA 7th Edition.

15. Journal Template

Authors must prepare manuscripts using the official Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan article template. The template provides detailed technical requirements concerning fonts, headings, spacing, tables, figures, citations, and other manuscript formatting.

16. Online Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the official online submission system of Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan. Authors should register or log in to the journal website and complete all required submission metadata accurately.

During submission, authors should ensure that the manuscript file, author information, affiliations, title, abstract, keywords, and other required metadata are complete and consistent with the submitted manuscript.

17. Publication Ethics and Journal Policies

By submitting a manuscript to Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan, authors agree to comply with the journal's applicable policies, including publication ethics, plagiarism screening, peer review, copyright, research integrity, conflict of interest, and responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).
