Author Guidlelines

Urwatul Wutsqo: Jurnal Studi Kependidikan dan Keislaman is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal focusing on research and scholarly studies in Islamic education, education, and related fields. Authors are required to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting a manuscript.

1. General Requirements

Language	English, Indonesian, or Arabic using appropriate formal academic language.
File Format	Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
Article Length	Approximately 5,500–7,500 words, including references.
Reference Style	APA 7th Edition (author-date system).
Submission	Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS).

Authors are responsible for checking the accuracy and consistency of citations, references, language, tables, figures, and other manuscript components before submission. Authors must also respond appropriately to editorial and reviewer comments during the revision process.

2. Manuscript Organization

The manuscript should generally follow the following structure:

3. Article Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the main focus of the research. It should preferably contain approximately 15 words and follow the formatting requirements provided in the journal template.

4. Author Information

All contributing authors must be listed in the correct publication order. Authors should provide their full names, institutional affiliations, and valid email addresses. Author names and affiliations must be written consistently and accurately as they are intended to appear in the published article.

5. Abstract

The manuscript must include abstracts in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Each abstract should contain approximately 150–250 words and concisely communicate the essential elements of the study.

6. Keywords

Authors should provide 3–5 relevant keywords that accurately represent the main concepts, subjects, or variables discussed in the manuscript. Keywords should facilitate article discovery and indexing.

7. Introduction

The Introduction should establish the scholarly context and significance of the study. It should clearly present the main research topic, relevant recent literature, the research gap or unresolved issue, the research problem, objectives, context, and unit of analysis.

Authors should critically engage with relevant and reasonably recent scholarly literature while recognizing that foundational or classical sources may be used where academically necessary. The Introduction should clearly demonstrate how the study contributes to existing scholarship.

8. Method

The Method section must explain the research design and procedures with sufficient clarity to enable readers to understand how the study was conducted and how the findings were produced.

As appropriate to the research design, authors should describe the research approach, participants or research subjects, population and sample, research setting, instruments, data sources, data collection procedures, data analysis techniques, and procedures for ensuring the validity or trustworthiness of the findings.

For qualitative research, authors should provide relevant information concerning the research setting, participants or informants, researcher involvement where applicable, data collection procedures, duration of the study, data analysis, and strategies used to establish the credibility or trustworthiness of the findings.

9. Results

The Results section should present the principal findings clearly, systematically, and concisely while providing sufficient evidence to support the conclusions. Tables and figures may be used where they improve the presentation of findings, but information should not be unnecessarily duplicated in both textual and visual forms.

Tables and figures should be appropriately numbered, titled, referenced in the text, and accompanied by sufficient explanation to allow readers to understand their relevance.

10. Discussion

The Discussion should interpret the research findings rather than merely repeat the results. Authors should explain the meaning and significance of the findings, address the research questions or objectives, relate the findings to relevant theories and previous studies, and identify agreements, differences, or new insights arising from the research.

The discussion should demonstrate the manuscript's scholarly contribution, novelty, or added value in relation to existing knowledge. Relevant national and international scholarly literature should be used according to the topic and research context.

11. Conclusion

The Conclusion should provide a concise synthesis of the principal findings and clearly answer the research problem and objectives. It should not merely repeat the Results and Discussion sections.

Where appropriate, authors may identify theoretical or practical implications, limitations of the study, and recommendations or directions for future research.

12. Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments are optional. Authors should acknowledge individuals or institutions that provided significant assistance but do not qualify for authorship. External research funding or other relevant financial support should also be appropriately disclosed in this section.

13. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be clear, readable, appropriately numbered using Arabic numerals, and positioned as close as possible to their first reference in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of all visual materials.

Where third-party copyrighted material is reproduced or adapted, authors are responsible for obtaining any permission required and providing appropriate acknowledgment.

14. References and Citations

All in-text citations and reference-list entries must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition. Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and every entry in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript.

The journal prioritizes manuscripts supported by relevant scholarly literature, particularly journal articles, research reports, and conference proceedings. As a general guideline, authors are encouraged to use approximately 70% journal articles and other primary scholarly sources and 30% books or other appropriate secondary scholarly sources.

15. Reference Integrity

Authors are responsible for verifying the existence, accuracy, relevance, and bibliographic information of every source cited in the manuscript. References must correspond to genuine and accessible scholarly sources. Fabricated, nonexistent, misleading, or unverifiable references are prohibited.

Where available, DOI information should be included accurately. Authors should verify reference metadata before submission and should not rely solely on automatically generated citation information.

16. Journal Self-Citation

Authors are encouraged, where academically relevant, to engage with previously published articles in Urwatul Wutsqo: Jurnal Studi Kependidikan dan Keislaman. However, citation of articles from this journal must be based solely on their scholarly relevance to the manuscript and should not be included merely for the purpose of increasing journal citations.

17. Originality and Publication Ethics

Submitted manuscripts must constitute original scholarly work and must not have been previously published or be simultaneously under consideration by another journal. Authors must comply with the journal's policies concerning plagiarism, research integrity, authorship, conflicts of interest, research ethics, and other applicable publication standards.

18. Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

Authors who use Generative AI tools during manuscript preparation must comply with the journal's Generative AI Policy. Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors and must not replace human responsibility for the originality, accuracy, validity, and integrity of the manuscript.
