Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of the concepts of Economic Jihad and Islamic Work Ethic practiced by Muslim culinary traders in a predominantly Hindu environment in Buleleng, Bali, as well as to examine the impact of this implementation on business sustainability and interreligious harmony. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study of the Muslim culinary trader community in the Buleleng area. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with traders and community leaders, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that Economic Jihad is understood as a persistent, honest, and professional effort to earn a livelihood peacefully through economic activities (muamalah). The prominent aspects of the Islamic work ethic include honesty, discipline, hard work, and friendly customer service. This implementation not only ensures business sustainability by attracting customers from diverse backgrounds but also contributes to the creation of social harmony within the Hindu-Muslim community of Buleleng. Thus, the embodiment of the Islamic work ethic in culinary trading serves as an effective bridge for socio-economic integration in a diverse society
