This article examines the philosophy of science as a fundamental basis for developing educational science. The study is motivated by the tendency of education to be reduced to technical, pragmatic, and administrative practices without sufficient philosophical reflection. Using library research and conceptual content analysis, this article reviews the original manuscript, two articles from the Journal of Indonesian Progressive Education, ten articles from Sinta 1 journals, and five major books on philosophy of science, Islamic education, and research methodology. The findings show that educational science requires three interrelated foundations: ontology, which clarifies the object and nature of education; epistemology, which determines valid methods of knowledge construction; and axiology, which directs educational science toward ethical, humanistic, and socially responsible purposes. The article also proposes a three-sphere model, fishbone analysis, and an algorithmic framework to guide educational scholars in integrating scientific rationality, Islamic values, and contextual Indonesian needs. The study concludes that philosophy of science is not an abstract supplement but a critical compass for developing educational science.
