MODEL KOMUNIKASI DAKWAH BERBASIS OLAHRAGA SUNNAH UNTUK PEMBINAAN KEAGAMAAN: STUDI KASUS PADA KOMUNITAS PANAHAN BERKUDA INDONESIA

The development of contemporary da'wah requires communication approaches that are more contextual and adaptive to ongoing social change, including through Sunnah sports communities. Perkumpulan Panahan Berkuda Indonesia (KPBI) is a community that integrates Sunnah sports activities with the religious development of its members through various forms of da'wah communication embedded in community activities. This study aims to analyze the da'wah communication model based on Sunnah sports in fostering the religious development of KPBI members. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving administrators, trainers, religious mentors, and members, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing; data validity was examined through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the da'wah communication model implemented within KPBI is constructed through an integrative approach combining Sunnah sports, character development, and the internalization of Islamic values. The da'wah communication process takes place through interpersonal communication, exemplary conduct by trainers, the habituation of Islamic manners (adab), religious symbols, and social interaction during training and community activities. Horseback archery is utilized not merely as physical exercise but also as a medium for fostering spirituality, discipline, ukhuwah (Islamic brotherhood), and strengthening members' Islamic identity. The implemented model is persuasive, participatory, and experience-based, enabling a more contextual and sustainable form of religious development. This study contributes theoretically to the development of community-based da'wah communication studies and offers practical recommendations for religious development programs within Sunnah sports communities in Indonesia.
