Despite these difficulties, some individuals develop and maintain a sense of gratitude in their lives. Understanding this phenomenon is important for expanding knowledge regarding positive psychological adaptation among people with disabilities. This study aimed to explore the meaning of gratitude in the lives of individuals with physical disabilities. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological method was employed. The study was conducted in Tulungagung Regency, East Java, Indonesia, involving four participants with physical disabilities selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using phenomenological analysis to identify the essential themes of participants’ lived experiences. The findings revealed that gratitude emerged through several interconnected experiences: (1) life experiences and challenges related to disability conditions, (2) external support from family, friends, and the social environment, (3) involvement in meaningful activities and work, and (4) spiritual meaning-making processes that fostered self-acceptance, sincerity, and gratitude. Participants perceived gratitude not merely as a positive emotion but also as an attitude reflected in accepting their condition, maintaining life motivation, and caring for others. These findings contribute to the literature on positive psychology by demonstrating that gratitude serves as an important psychological resource for enhancing emotional well-being and constructing meaningful lives among individuals with physical disabilities.
Sanita Khusna Mawarni, Faruq Faruq Copyright (c) 2026 ILJ: Islamic Learning Journal https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3624 Mon, 20 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Analisis Nilai Adab dan Akhlak Syekh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani dalam Kitab Al-Faidhurrahmani: Relevansinya Terhadap Kehidupan Sosial https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3687
Islamic moral education has become increasingly significant in responding to moral degradation, individualism, intolerance, and declining social responsibility in contemporary society. These challenges highlight the importance of exploring classical Islamic texts that offer comprehensive ethical guidance. This study aims to analyze the values of adab and akhlaq of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani contained in Al-Faidhurrahmani fi Manaqib Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani by Shaykh Ahmad Asrori al-Ishaqi and to examine their relevance to contemporary social life. The study employed a qualitative library research approach using content analysis integrated with the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. Rather than testing a hypothesis, the research focused on identifying and interpreting the moral values systematically presented in the text. The findings reveal five principal values: purification of the soul (tazkiyat al-nafs), honesty (sidq), self-restraint through zuhd, respect for others, and social responsibility. These values form a hierarchical model of moral education that begins with spiritual purification, develops personal integrity, and culminates in social responsibility. This study contributes to Islamic education by proposing a conceptual model of adab and akhlaq internalization derived from a classical Islamic text. The findings confirm that Al-Faidhurrahmani remains highly relevant as a foundation for strengthening Islamic character education and promoting ethical, harmonious, and socially responsible communities
Afi Sabriansyah, Mokhamad Ali Musyaffa’, Khotimah Suryani Copyright (c) 2026 ILJ: Islamic Learning Journal https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3687 Mon, 03 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Evektivitas Penggunaan Media Augmented Reality dalam Meningkatkan Pemahamaan Konsep Akademik Siswa di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Pada Era Society 5.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3610
The development of technology in the Society 5.0 era has encouraged the education sector to utilize more innovative learning media that are in line with the needs of students. One of the learning media that has recently been widely used is Augmented Reality (AR), as it is able to present learning objects visually and interactively, thereby helping students understand abstract materials. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Augmented Reality media in improving students' understanding of academic concepts at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method involving two groups, namely an experimental class that used Augmented Reality media and a control class that used conventional learning media. The data were collected through concept understanding tests administered before and after the learning process and were analyzed using statistical tests to identify differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results of the study indicate that the use of Augmented Reality media has a positive effect on improving students' understanding of academic concepts. Students in the experimental class showed greater improvement in their scores than those in the control class. In addition, the learning process became more engaging because students were more actively involved in observing, exploring, and discussing throughout the learning activities. These findings indicate that Augmented Reality media can serve as an alternative learning medium that is relevant for implementation in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah as an effort to support more interactive learning that is aligned with technological developments in the Society 5.0 era.
Ahmad Rizal, Ida latifatul Umroh2, Zuli Dwi Rahmawati Copyright (c) 2026 ILJ: Islamic Learning Journal https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3610 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Relevansi Konsep Akidah Imam Al-Ghazali dalam Al-Iqtishad Fi Al-I'tiqad terhadap Pendidikan Agama Islam https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3715
Social media has reached people across all boundaries. This makes it easier for them to communicate without barriers. On the one hand, this convenience has positive effects; on the other hand, it has negative consequences. In Islamic teachings, Al-Ghazali authored a work on creed that teaches moderation in matters of faith, namely the book Al-Iqtishad fi Al-I’tiqad. Thus, this book is relevant to the aforementioned issue. Therefore, the focus of this study is on the concept of faith in Al-Iqtishad fi Al-I’tiqad and how this concept relates to Islamic Religious Education. This is a qualitative study in the form of library research employing content analysis. The results of this study show that the concept of faith presented in the book Al-Iqtishad fi Al-I’tiqad is a faith based primarily on sharia evidence (dalil syariat) or revealed evidence (dalil naqli), supplemented by rational evidence (dalil aqli) to reinforce the sharia evidence. This faith centers on three main topics. First, regarding the proof of God’s existence, His having no beginning, His eternity, the fact that God’s form is not a substance (jauhar), a body (jism), or an accident (aradl), God’s visibility, and His oneness. Second, regarding the seven attributes of God, namely power (qudrah), knowledge (ilm), life (hayah), will (irodah), hearing (sama’), sight (bashar), and speech (kalam). These seven attributes are distinct from Allah’s essence; although distinct, all these attributes are inherent in that essence. All these attributes are eternal, including the names derived from them and their corresponding actions. Third, regarding Allah’s actions that are permissible but not obligatory, including creating beings, imposing religious obligations, sending prophets, granting rewards, inflicting punishment on innocent animals, and others. All these concepts are supported by rational arguments. The relevance of these doctrinal concepts to Islamic religious education is, first, related to the strengthening of a holistic faith; second, to the strengthening of faith within the context of religious moderation; third, to the strengthening of faith through rational thinking; and finally, to emulating the attributes of God in shaping religious character.

Mochamad Ismail Hasan, Saefrudin, Sulhatul Habibah Copyright (c) 2026 ILJ: Islamic Learning Journal https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/ilj/article/view/3715 Sun, 30 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0700
