This study aims to analyze the transmission mechanism of Panca Jiwa (Five Souls) values through the hidden curriculum driven by Student Dormitory Mentors (Mudabbir) at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor. Utilizing a sociological ethnographic method, the researcher acted as the primary instrument to observe 24-hour intersubjective interactions within the domestic spaces of the dormitory. Data collection was conducted through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and data condensation of discipline logs. The findings indicate that character internalization does not operate through formal-bureaucratic channels, but rather through the exploitation of proximate authority held by mentors who cohabit the same barracks. Students' spiritual character is shaped through four tactical daily activities: mobilization for congregational prayers, private night-time guidance (Quranic tasheh and bed-to-bed talk), official bilingual language enforcement, and direct supervision of dormitory cleanliness (tanzif al-am). This study concludes that there is a dual-impact inherent in this Ruh Al-Mudabbir-based peer pedagogy system, wherein the character-building process of junior students simultaneously solidifies spiritual militancy and strict self-regulation within the mentors themselves. The theoretical implication of this study reconstructs Western total institution theories, which tend to be oppressive, by proving that discipline enforcement within the pesantren ecosystem can instead be produced through a persuasive, role-model-based emotional approach.
