PSIKOSPIRITUAL DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM PERSPEKTIF AL-GHAZALI

Abstract

Spiritual education is an essential aspect of educating children based on Islamic values. This study examines the concept of spiritual education in Ihya’ Ulum ad-Din by Abu Hamid Muhammad al-Ghazali, focusing on the chapter Riyadhah an-Nafs. The purpose of this research is to explore spiritual values for effective child education from al-Ghazali’s perspective. This study employs a qualitative approach using document analysis through library research. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods. The findings reveal that al-Ghazali’s spiritual education emphasizes the cultivation of the qolb as the center of spiritual awareness, the application of riyadhah an-nafs as a method for moral development, and its implications for character formation in children to maintain virtuous behavior.
