This study aims to examine the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) as a means of strengthening students' character. A qualitative approach was used through a literature review, which involved an in-depth examination of various scientific sources discussing contextual learning and character building in the context of IRE. The findings reveal that the application of CTL can improve students' understanding of Islamic values more comprehensively, not only at the conceptual level but also in their daily lives. Through this approach, students are encouraged to connect the learning material with real situations they encounter, thereby strengthening their moral, social, and spiritual attitudes. Furthermore, Contextual Teaching and Learning contributes to shaping character in line with Islamic teachings, while fostering a sense of responsibility, active participation, and independence in practicing religion. Thus, the results of this study are expected to serve as a reference in developing PAI learning that is more relevant, meaningful, and contextual in accordance with the demands of today's education.
