Mental health is one of the most important issues in modern life. Various psychological disorders, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-efficacy, are related to how individuals interpret their experiences and respond to life’s challenges. One of the most widely used psychotherapeutic approaches to address these issues is cognitive therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which view thought patterns, emotions, and behavior as interconnected components. In the context of Muslim society, this approach can be developed by taking into account the Islamic value system and beliefs. This article aims to analyze the principles of cognitive therapy and the possibility of integrating them with the values of the Qur’an. This study employs a literature review method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The sources used include cognitive psychology literature, research on Islamic Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), manuals on integrated Islamic therapy, and verses from the Qur’an related to inner peace, prejudice, patience, introspection, and the ability to face trials. The results of the study indicate conceptual common ground between cognitive restructuring and the principles of muhasabah, tadabbur, husn al-zann, patience, tawakal, and zikir. This integration is not intended to equate the Qur’an with modern psychotherapy theories but rather to develop a counseling approach more aligned with the Muslim worldview. This study also indicates that empirical evidence regarding cognitive therapy specifically integrated with Islamic values is still developing, necessitating more robust experimental and clinical research.
