Abstract

Humanistic therapy is a psychological approach that emphasises human potential, freedom, and self-actualisation. In Islam, these values are consistent with the teachings of the Qur’an, which upholds human dignity. This study aims to examine the concept of humanistic therapy from the perspective of the Qur’an and its relevance to Islamic counselling and guidance. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach. The results of the study indicate that humanistic principles are in harmony with the values of the Qur’an, such as respect for humanity, freedom of choice, responsibility, and a meaningful purpose in life. This approach is relevant for use in the practice of Islamic counselling and guidance to help individuals achieve psychological and spiritual well-being.
