The ability to read and write the Qur'an is a fundamental competency for every Muslim, serving as the foundation for understanding and practicing Islamic teachings. However, the Qur'anic literacy of the community in Kauman Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, still requires improvement, particularly in recognizing the Arabic alphabet (hijaiyah), pronouncing letters according to their correct articulation points (makhārij al-ḥurūf), applying basic rules of tajwid, and writing Arabic letters accurately. This community service program aimed to enhance Qur'anic literacy through Qur'an reading and writing assistance using the Qur'any Method developed by KH. Muhammad Qoyyim Ya'qub. The program employed an instructional mentoring approach with a participatory method, consisting of five stages: preparation, implementation, evaluation, reflection, and follow-up. The learning process was based on the principles of the Qur'any Method Level 1, emphasizing sound practice, reading exercises, and writing exercises conducted systematically through repetition, direct guidance, and continuous correction. The results demonstrated significant improvements in participants' ability to recognize hijaiyah letters, read the Qur'an with proper pronunciation and basic tajwid, and write Arabic letters correctly. In addition, participants showed increased learning motivation, self-confidence, and a stronger habit of reading the Qur'an regularly. Therefore, the Qur'any Method has proven to be an effective model for improving Qur'anic literacy through community-based mentoring, fostering cognitive, psychomotor, and affective development. It is recommended as an alternative approach for community service programs and non-formal Islamic education to strengthen comprehensive Qur'anic literacy.

Improving school quality requires systematic planning to ensure that development programmes can be implemented effectively and sustainably. One of the challenges faced by schools is the formulation of a School Quality Improvement Programme that aligns with the institution’s needs and strategic objectives. This community engagement activity aims to support the management team of Nurul Faizah Islamic Boarding School (IBS) Junior High School, Pasuruan Regency, in developing a School Quality Improvement Programme through a participatory mentoring approach. The target audience for the activity includes the headteacher, teachers and the school management team. The activity was carried out in five stages: needs analysis, workshops, guidance on programme development, document validation and evaluation. The mentoring focused on identifying the school’s needs, formulating quality improvement objectives, establishing success indicators, and systematically drafting the School Quality Improvement Programme document. The results of the activities demonstrated an improvement in participants’ understanding of educational quality planning, as well as the drafting of a School Quality Improvement Programme document that is aligned with the school’s vision, mission and development priorities. The participatory mentoring approach also strengthened collaboration between the headteacher, teachers and the management team in planning for continuous quality improvement. The resulting document is expected to serve as a strategic guide for the implementation of the quality improvement programme and the strengthening of school governance.

Strengthening The Understanding Of Prospering The Mosque Through Ramadan Lectures

The mosque has a strategic role not only as a place for pure worship but also as a center for community development. This community service activity aims to enhance the congregation's understanding and awareness regarding the concept of prospering the mosque (imaratul masjid) by optimizing the Seven-Minute Lecture (Kultum) during the holy month of Ramadan at Jami' Bulurejo Mosque, Jombang Regency. The implementation method used is a participatory field action approach divided into three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Educational materials were delivered thematically, dialogically, and using language easily understood by a heterogeneous congregation. The results of the activity demonstrated two main achievements. First, there was a significant increase in the quantity of the congregation, where the mosque became more crowded, and the enthusiasm for attendance was maintained until the end of Ramadan. Second, there was a behavioral change in the congregation, which became much more orderly, as seen from their independence in straightening the prayer rows (shaf), a conducive atmosphere inside the mosque, and better management of children. This activity concludes that structured religious education through the Kultum is highly effective in engineering social change and the collective awareness of the community to prosper the mosque both physically and spiritually

Penguatan Kompetensi Pengelola Media Pesantren melalui Pendampingan Produksi Konten Dakwah Digital

Transforming Islamic preaching into digital spaces requires pesantren media managers not only to master technical skills but also to integrate da'wah substance, visual aesthetics, and institutional identity into content production. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen the competencies of media managers at Pondok Pesantren Sunan Drajat, Lamongan, in producing communicative, visually appealing, and identity-based digital da'wah content. The program employed a participatory assistance approach consisting of needs identification, program design, capacity building, content production practice, and evaluation. The assistance covered message planning, audience mapping, visual communication, the use of pesantren symbols, narrative development, and content production through a production–review–revision mechanism. The results demonstrated strengthened partner competencies in three dimensions: planning and producing digital content, developing visual communication aesthetics, and articulating the pesantren's symbolic identity. The program also established a more systematic workflow encompassing da'wah message identification, audience mapping, content planning, visual and symbolic construction, narrative development, review, revision, and publication. The program's novelty lies in the formulation of identity-based digital da'wah content production, which positions pesantren values and identity as the foundation of content production rather than merely decorative elements. This approach demonstrates that strengthening pesantren digital da'wah should move beyond tool-oriented training toward communication competencies integrating messages, aesthetics, and institutional identity. Program sustainability is directed toward implementing internal content-review mechanisms, developing content-production guidelines, and ensuring the regeneration of pesantren media managers.

Improving Reading Comprehension Through Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) Model

Reading comprehension is an essential competence for university students because it enables them to access information, broaden their knowledge, and support their academic development. However, third-semester students of Class B in the Islamic Education Study Program at IAI Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Jombang experienced difficulties in understanding English texts, identifying main ideas, answering comprehension questions, and mastering vocabulary. This community engagement program aimed to improve students’ reading comprehension through mentoring using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model. The program involved 18 students and was conducted at least three times a week through heterogeneous group formation, text-based reading activities, identification of main ideas, discussion and writing of comprehension results, presentations, reinforcement, evaluation, and reflection. The program was evaluated using a pre-test, post-test, participant activity observations, and a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the participants’ mean score increased from 28.89 on the pre-test to 62.28 on the post-test. The statistical analysis yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in reading comprehension before and after the mentoring program. Observations also revealed high levels of student engagement in group discussions, identifying main ideas, responding to texts, and reflecting on learning outcomes. These findings demonstrate that CIRC-based mentoring effectively improves students’ English reading comprehension while promoting active participation and collaborative learning.

Strengthening Digital Literacy among Women’s Yasinan Groups through Assistance in the Wise Use of Social Media

The widespread use of social media facilitates access to and distribution of information while simultaneously exposing communities to misinformation, digital fraud, privacy violations, and unethical communication. These challenges highlight the importance of strengthening digital literacy, particularly among women who actively participate in family and community communication networks. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen digital literacy among women in the Yasinan group of Nataan Hamlet, Gedongboyountung Village, Turi District, Lamongan Regency, through assistance in the wise use of social media. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of needs identification, education, practical assistance, evaluation, and reflection. The intervention integrated four dimensions of digital literacy: information verification, digital security, privacy protection, and digital ethics. Activities combined interactive education, case-based discussions, demonstrations, simulations, and guided practice using digital content relevant to participants’ everyday experiences. The results indicated greater participant awareness of the importance of examining information sources before sharing content, recognizing potential digital risks and fraud, protecting personal information, and considering the ethical consequences of social media activities. The engagement also demonstrated the potential of the Yasinan group as a community-based digital learning space that utilizes existing social relationships and interpersonal trust to reinforce responsible digital practices. The program highlights that community-based digital literacy can connect individual competencies with the development of a more critical, safe, ethical, and responsible digital culture.

Strategi Edukasi Herbal Dalam Menumbuhkan Minat Budidaya Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) Pada Warga Desa Sembung Kecamatan Wringinanom

The lack of public knowledge in Sembung Village, Wringinanom District, regarding family medicinal plants (TOGA) is one of the main factors contributing to the limited use of herbal plants as an alternative approach to independent health care. Many residents are unfamiliar with the types of herbal plants that can be grown around their homes, their therapeutic benefits, and safe and effective processing methods. Therefore, this study was conducted to provide structured herbal education aimed at improving the community’s knowledge, skills, and awareness of the importance of TOGA in supporting family health. This research employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which emphasizes the active involvement of all community elements, including village officials, health cadres, and residents as education participants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and direct participation in training activities. The PAR approach was chosen because it allows the community not only to receive information but also to act as key agents in the learning process and behavioral change. The results of the study show that the implemented educational strategies including direct socialization, visual-based counseling, plant cultivation practice, demonstration plots, simple herbal processing training, and regular follow-up mentoring significantly improved residents’ understanding and motivation. The community became more capable of identifying various types of TOGA, understanding their therapeutic benefits, and practicing proper planting techniques. Additionally, there was a noticeable increase in residents' interest in cultivating herbal plants in their home gardens as part of a healthy lifestyle and an effort to achieve family health independence.
