A total of 27 selected articles from reputable databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and SINTA (2020–2025) were analyzed. The findings indicate a significant shift from administrative digitalization toward advanced data analytics and intelligent algorithms in decision-making processes. However, the dominance of technological approaches risks neglecting ethical, spiritual, and value-based dimensions inherent in Islamic education. Therefore, this study emphasizes the integration of Islamic epistemology, including bayani, burhani, and irfani, in decision-making. The concept of shura acts as a collective validation mechanism for data analysis results, ensuring that decisions are not purely algorithmic. This study proposes the Data-Driven Shura (DDS) model as an integrative framework combining data analytics with Islamic values to support holistic decision-making. The contribution lies in bridging modern technology with Islamic ethical principles in educational management.
Nurhana Fakhriyah Imtinan, Abdurrozaq Abdurrozaq, Muhammad Thohir, Sahudi Sahudi Copyright (c) 2026 Nurhana Fakhriyah Imtinan, Abdurrozaq Abdurrozaq, Muhammad Thohir, Sahudi Sahudi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2689 Mon, 04 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Influence of School Culture on the Academic Achievement of Students https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3044
This study aims to examine the influence of school culture on students’ academic achievement in madrasahs. According to various sources, students’ academic achievement in Indonesia remains relatively low, as evidenced by various national and international educational assessment results. One factor suspected of influencing academic achievement is school culture. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of school culture on the academic achievement of students at State Madrasah Tsanawiyah 3 in Palu City. This study employs a quantitative approach. The research sample consists of 40 students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection for this study involved distributing a Likert-scale questionnaire on the school culture variable and using report card grades as an indicator of students’ academic achievement for the academic performance variable of ninth-grade students. Validity was tested using item-total correlation, and reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26 via simple linear regression. The results indicate that school culture has a positive but insignificant influence of 5.7% on students’ academic achievement. These findings suggest that school culture has a positive but insignificant influence on student achievement in madrasahs.
Riska Ayu Lestari, Irawan Hadi Patanggu, Masmur M. Nogigi is an essential stage containing philosophical, religious, and social values, and is understood as a symbol of self-purification before entering married life. Amid modernization, the continuity of this tradition is closely linked to the role of traditional leaders as guardians of local cultural values. This research applies a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving traditional leaders and community members directly engaged in the practice of Nogigi. The findings indicate that traditional leaders serve as mediators, protectors of tradition, guides of the customary procession, and transmitters of cultural values to the younger generation. Although certain adjustments have occurred in terms of timing, ceremonial equipment, and youth participation due to social change, the core philosophical meaning of Nogigi remains intact. Thus, the sustainability of the Nogigi tradition is maintained through the active involvement of traditional leaders, supported by the community and local government
Andi Talha, Nuraedah Nuraedah, Hasan Hasan, Juraid Juraid Copyright (c) 2026 Andi Talha, Nuraedah Nuraedah, Hasan Hasan, Juraid Juraid http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2927 Fri, 08 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Influence of Learning Facilities and Infrastructure on Students' Learning Motivation https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3041
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning facilities and infrastructure on students' learning motivation. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation and analysed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the pesantren plays a significant role in developing hāmil al-Qur’ān students in an integrative manner. The lafẓan dimension is implemented through structured tahfiz learning based on talaqqi, memorisation, submission, and repetition (muroja’ah), with an emphasis on accurate recitation according to tajwid rules. The ma’nan dimension is developed through tafsir studies, ulūmul Qur’an, and Arabic language reinforcement, enabling students to understand Qur’anic meanings contextually. Meanwhile, the ‘amalan dimension is internalised through habituation of worship, role modeling, and pesantren culture, which shape Qur’anic character. The novelty of this study lies in the construction of an integrative hāmil al-Qur’ān development model that connects memorisation, understanding, and practice within a holistic and sustainable educational system.
Daud Daud, Asriana Kibtiyah, Silmi Adawiya Copyright (c) 2026 Daud Daud, Asriana Kibtiyah, Silmi Adawiya http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3065 Mon, 11 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Implementation of the Literacy Journal Program in Strengthening Students’ Reading Interest https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3057
This study aims to analyse the implementation of the Literacy Journal programme in strengthening students’ reading interest at SMP Islam Plus Al-Ikhlas Taqwa Medan. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data sources consisted of the principal, vice principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the Literacy Journal programme was designed as a routine literacy habituation activity requiring students to read books daily and record the results of their reading in a literacy journal. The programme is supported by weekly literacy activities known as Kamis Literasi, where students present and reflect on the books they have read. The study shows that the programme contributes positively to strengthening students’ reading interest, improving communication skills, expanding vocabulary mastery, and fostering critical thinking abilities. In addition, the integration of English writing within the literacy journal reflects efforts to develop global literacy competencies among students. However, several challenges were identified, including limited library facilities, students’ dishonesty in filling out journals, and insufficient parental involvement. Therefore, collaboration between schools and families is essential to support the sustainability and effectiveness of literacy programs in developing students’ reading culture and educational quality
Teguh Wibowo, Mahariah Mahariah Copyright (c) 2026 Teguh Wibowo, Mahariah Mahariah http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3057 Tue, 12 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Optimization of Digital Media in Islamic Religious Education Learning to Enhance Joyful Learning https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2974
This study examines the optimization of digital media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to enhance joyful learning at SMK YPM Bojonegoro. The main problem addressed in this research is the low level of student engagement due to teacher-centered learning practices. This study aims to analyze the role of digital media integration in creating an interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable learning environment. The research was motivated by the important role of Alkhairaat institutions in expanding Islamic education in Eastern Indonesia and the limited scholarly attention given to the local history of Madrasah Aliyah Alkhairaat Parigi. This study employed a qualitative historical research approach using heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with founders, school leaders, and historical actors, as well as field observations and institutional documentation. The findings reveal that the establishment of Madrasah Aliyah Alkhairaat Parigi in 1990 was driven by the urgent educational needs of the Muslim community in Parigi Moutong Regency and supported by collective participation from religious leaders and local society. The madrasah developed gradually despite limited facilities and financial resources during its early years. Over time, the institution became an important center for Islamic education, moral formation, and community empowerment. The study also demonstrates that the madrasah played a significant role in preserving Alkhairaat educational traditions, strengthening Islamic identity, and improving educational access in Central Sulawesi. The research employed a qualitative approach using historical research methods, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and archival and local historical documentation. The findings reveal that the Chinese community played a significant role in local economic development through trading activities, goods distribution, and commercial relations with coastal communities. Social interaction between Chinese Indonesians and residents was relatively harmonious, supported by economic cooperation, social communication, and cultural adaptation. However, the Chinese community also maintained internal solidarity and kinship networks as part of their socio-economic survival strategy. The study further found that the migration of Chinese Indonesians from Sirenja during the late 1990s and early 2000s was influenced by declining local economic activity, changes in regional trade structures, and broader national socio-political conditions during the Reformasi era. This migration contributed to weakening commercial activity and reducing multicultural interaction within the district. The findings reveal that school management services were implemented through socialization programs, administrative assistance, transparent communication, and monitoring of educational fund utilization. These strategies significantly contributed to improving parents’ understanding regarding the proper use of PIP funds for educational purposes. However, parents’ understanding remained influenced by educational background, economic conditions, access to information, and educational awareness. The study further indicates that integrating Islamic values such as amanah, honesty, responsibility, and justice strengthened educational service effectiveness and community trust. Therefore, effective school service management is essential for ensuring the successful implementation of educational assistance policies and strengthening parental participation in supporting children’s education
Muhammad Ghaffar Rasyad Copyright (c) 2026 Muhammad Ghaffar Rasyad http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3043 Sat, 06 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Influence of Student Management on Student Discipline https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/3178
This study aims to examine the influence of student management on student discipline at SD Inpres Masigi, Parigi Moutong Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto survey design. The population consisted of 75 students from grades IV, V, and VI, and all members of the population were selected as research samples using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability before being administered. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression, and coefficient of determination analysis using IBM SPSS. The findings revealed that student management was categorized as moderate, with 68% of respondents falling into the medium category, while student discipline was also in the moderate category, with 56% of respondents categorized as medium. The normality and linearity tests indicated that the data met the statistical assumptions required for regression analysis. The results of the simple linear regression test showed a significant positive effect of student management on student discipline, with the regression equation Y = 8.909 + 0.653X. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.441, indicating that student management contributed 44.1% to student discipline, while the remaining 55.9% was influenced by other factors outside the study. These findings emphasize the importance of structured and effective student management practices in fostering student discipline and creating a conducive learning environment
Sumaiya G.R. Dg. The research employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population consisted of 27 teachers, all of whom were selected as research participants using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Instrument validity and reliability were tested before conducting statistical analysis using SPSS 26. The analysis included descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression, t-tests, and coefficient of determination tests. The results revealed that principal leadership had a positive and significant effect on teacher job satisfaction, indicated by a significance value of 0.010 (<0.05) and a regression coefficient of 0.605. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.239, showing that principal leadership contributed 23.9% to teacher job satisfaction, while the remaining 76.1% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. These findings indicate that effective leadership practices, including communication, motivation, supervision, and interpersonal support, play an important role in enhancing teachers’ job satisfaction. However, teacher job satisfaction is also affected by broader organizational factors such as work environment, professional development opportunities, welfare, organizational culture, and institutional support. Therefore, improving teacher job satisfaction requires a comprehensive approach that integrates leadership development with organizational improvement strategies within the madrasah context
Nur Purnama Sari, Sagaf S.
