Employing a comparative multi-site case study qualitative approach, this research compares two PAI implementation models: the Formal-Regulatory model at SMK Negeri 12 and the Internalization-Transcendental model at SMK Swasta Angkasa. The Formal-Regulatory model, based on government regulations and emphasizing sanctions, tends to produce temporary KDR and compliance-based adherence. Student compliance with digital communication, interaction, and content ethics is vulnerable to not being sustainable outside the school environment. Conversely, the Internalization-Transcendental model, which leverages cultural autonomy and instills the value of muraqabah (awareness of divine omnipresence) as its foundation, proves more effective in fostering intrinsic and sustainable KDR. The awareness of muraqabah strengthens students' Akidah dimension, forms Digital Self-Regulation, and integrates digital ethics as part of worship, manifested in Digital Sobriety and Tabayyun rooted in faith. This study affirms that muraqabah is a critical transversal variable determining the quality of KDR internalization. Theoretically, this study enriches the discourse on PAI, digital ethics, and transcendental character education, particularly highlighting muraqabah as a spiritual foundation for Self-Control. Practically, these findings provide contextual references for the development of value-based and spiritually grounded digital literacy strategies relevant for VHS students.
Wawan Setiawan, Endi Suhendi Copyright (c) 2026 Wawan Setiawan, Endi Suhendi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2768 Mon, 26 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Institutionalizing Religious Habituation Through Lecture SOPs: A Qualitative Study of Student Character Formation https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2668
This study aims to examine the institutionalization of religious habituation through lecture Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as a strategy for student character formation. The religious habituation analyzed includes tawasul, the recitation of Sholawat Fatih, the reading of institutional and study program vision and mission statements, and the reading of financial principles, which are routinely conducted before lectures begin. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving institutional leaders, lecturers, and students as key informants. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that religious habituation institutionalized through lecture SOPs contributes significantly to the development of student character, particularly in strengthening religiosity, discipline, academic responsibility, humility (tawadhu’), social solidarity, and learning motivation. Moreover, this practice fosters a religious, conducive, and worship-oriented academic atmosphere, positioning learning activities not merely as academic obligations but also as acts of devotion to Allah SWT. The study concludes that structured and policy-based religious habituation serves as an effective instrument for internalizing Qur’anic values and reinforcing academic culture in Islamic higher education institutions
Laily Farihatul Izza, Eva Fauziah, Novita Dwi Astuti, Enda Tomia, Ain Fahiyana Copyright (c) 2026 Laily Farihatul Izza, Eva Fauziah, Novita Dwi Astuti, Enda Tomia, Ain Fahiyana http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2668 Tue, 27 Jan 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Improvement Strategy Sustainability in LMS- Based Islamic Religious Education Learning: An Approach, Measurement, Holistic, and Revision Systematic https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2728
This study aims to examine strategies for enhancing the sustainability of Learning Management System (LMS)-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning through the integration of holistic measurement and the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle. PAI emphasizes holistic student development across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains grounded in Islamic spiritual values; however, LMS-based evaluation and revision practices remain fragmented and insufficiently systematic. This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol, analyzing scholarly articles published between 2015 and 2024 from reputable databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar. Of the 150 articles initially identified, 45 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using qualitative thematic meta-synthesis. The findings reveal that LMS enhances learning flexibility and student engagement but remains limited in facilitating the internalization of Islamic values and sustainable revision mechanisms. This study proposes an original contribution in the form of a Holistic Adaptive PAI–PDCA Framework, integrating multidimensional assessment with adaptive feedback and continuous revision within LMS environments. Theoretically, this framework contributes to the development of Total Quality Management perspectives in Islamic education. Practically, it offers conceptual guidance for PAI teachers to optimize LMS implementation in a value-based and sustainable learning context. This study is limited by the absence of empirical validation; therefore, future longitudinal and mixed-method studies are recommended
Bidayatul Hubbil Iffah, Ummu Sa’diyah, Lilis Syifa’yah, Lailatul Fitria Fitria , Alaika M. Using a qualitative library research design grounded in Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics, this research applies the concept of fusion of horizons to integrate classical Islamic texts with contemporary digital challenges such as doomscrolling, algorithmic addiction, and ethical disorientation on social media. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali provides an epistemological foundation by positioning the qalb (heart) as the center of moral consciousness and knowledge discernment, while Ibn Qayyim contributes a transformative methodological framework through the stages of maqāmāt and practices of mujāhadah. The synthesis of both perspectives results in an applicative pedagogical model in which mujāhadah is reinterpreted as digital self-discipline, muraqabah as digital integrity, and muhāsabah as reflective information auditing. This framework offers a conceptual contribution to Islamic Religious Education by shifting moral education from external regulation toward internalized spiritual resilience, enabling students to navigate digital environments with ethical awareness, self-control, and spiritual maturity.
Muhammad Ghufron, Rifqi Khairul Anam, Khoiriyah Khoiriyah Copyright (c) 2026 Muhammad Ghufron, Rifqi Khairul Anam http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2715 Mon, 02 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Analysis of Strengthening Moral Values through Digital-Based Islamic Religious Education Learning https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2706
This article examines the strengthening of moral values through digital-based Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning within the rapidly transforming landscape of contemporary education. The study aims to understand how digital platforms, learning media, and pedagogical designs contribute to the internalization of moral values among students. The topic is significant because digitalization not only creates new opportunities for value-oriented learning but also introduces risks that may weaken students’ moral awareness. Using a systematic literature review, this study analyzed eight primary research articles published within the last decade. No hypothesis was tested, as the study relied entirely on qualitative and conceptual analysis. The findings reveal a surprising paradox: digital learning can strengthen moral values when guided pedagogically, yet it can also diminish them when students interact with digital content without ethical supervision. The study contributes to the discipline by offering a conceptual model that positions digital ethics and moral habituation as key mediating variables in value internalization. The conclusion highlights the urgent need for ethical-oriented digital pedagogy and capacity building for teachers in designing value-integrated digital learning. These results underscore the importance of rethinking digital IRE not merely as a technological shift but as a moral-educational transformation.
Tri Selo Cahyono, Robingun Suyud Elsyam, Muhtar sofwan Hidayat Copyright (c) 2026 Tri Selo Cahyono, Robingun Suyud Elsyam, Muhtar sofwan Hidayat http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2706 Mon, 02 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Al-Qur'an Memorization Program as an Instrument for Religious Character Education for Islamic Boarding School Students https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2861
This study aims to analyze the formation of students’ religious character through the tahfidz Al-Qur’an program at Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School, Mojowarno, Jombang. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of religious character education within the pesantren context. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, involving the pesantren leader, tahfidz instructors, and students as research participants. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis followed an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students’ religious character is developed through the integration of religious habituation, exemplary behavior, and consistent discipline in daily pesantren life. The tahfidz Al-Qur’an program plays a significant role in shaping students’ religious character, including discipline, honesty, patience, consistency (istiqamah), and responsibility. Activities such as memorization submission, repetition (muroja’ah), and recitation evaluation (tasmi’) function not only as memorization assessments but also as effective means of internalizing religious values into students’ behavior. This study confirms that the tahfidz Al-Qur’an program serves not merely as a memorization activity but as an effective instrument for religious character education in Islamic boarding schools
Mihmidaty Ya'cub, Moch. Employing a qualitative approach with a multi-site comparative design, the research explores how different organizational cultures and management models influence program outcomes. SMKN 12 Bandung utilizes a decentralized model, granting autonomy to students through Rohis, which fosters responsibility but struggles with attendance consistency and spiritual internalization depth due to dense practical schedules and minimal control. In contrast, SMKS Angkasa Husein Bandung implements a centralized, disciplinary model that ensures order and consistent attendance but risks creating ritualism and feelings of compulsion among students. The findings highlight that effective religious character formation requires a harmonious balance between external discipline and internal awareness. An optimal model should combine consistent implementation with mechanisms for deep reflection and student autonomy, avoiding scenarios where control without autonomy leads to superficial practice, or autonomy without control compromises quality. The study suggests tailored improvements for each school, emphasizing structured supervision for SMKN 12 and greater student initiative with richer religious content for SMKS Angkasa Husein.
Agus Kusnandar, Iskandar Mirza Copyright (c) 2026 Agus Kusnandar, Iskandar Mirza http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2767 Tue, 03 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Impact Of Polygamy Marriage Practices on the Family https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2856
This study aims to analyze polygamy practices and their positive and negative impacts on family life as well as the psychological conditions of wives and children in the community of Paciran District, Lamongan Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach, with a conceptual and case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving polygamy practitioners, community leaders, and related parties. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that polygamy practices in Paciran vary, ranging from open to covert arrangements. Normatively, polygamy is perceived as permissible in Islamic law under strict conditions of justice and financial capability. However, in practice, polygamy tends to generate more negative impacts than positive ones, particularly affecting the psychological well-being of wives and children, including jealousy, emotional instability, domestic conflict, and declining family harmony. Nevertheless, a limited number of families demonstrate relative stability through equitable treatment and effective communication. This study highlights that polygamy requires strong psychological, economic, and moral readiness to prevent broader social and familial harm.
Dendik Irawan, Budi Parmono, Moh. This study aims to determine and explain the role of the supervisor in instilling religious values in children at the Guyub Rukun Orphanage. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, specifically a case study type, utilizing a purposive sampling technique to cover 4 informants: 2 orphanage supervisors who serve as the head of the orphanage, and 2 orphanage children. This study uses Talcott Parsons Structural Functionalism theory to collect data using non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis refers to the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study show that instilling religious values is achieved by building habits of religious practice, such as congregational prayer and religious studies, and by fostering an attitude of mutual respect and discipline. Instilling religious values emphasizes the importance of mentors as role models for orphanage children facing difficult economic conditions and lacking religious guidance from their families. This shows that mentors have a role as educators, spiritual guides, moral role models, and substitute parents in shaping the religious values of orphanage children. There are challenges caused by foster children not living permanently in the orphanage.
Aprillia Mahtuah Kotin, Heni Nopianti, Diyas Widiyarti Copyright (c) 2026 Aprillia Mahtuah Kotin, Heni Nopianti, Diyas Widiyarti http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2683 Tue, 10 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Project-Based Learning for Spiritual Competence in Islamic Religious Education https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2705
The growing demand for holistic education in the era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 requires Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to foster not only cognitive mastery but also students’ spiritual competence. However, instructional practices in many PAI classrooms remain predominantly lecture-centered and insufficiently structured to facilitate systematic value internalization. This conceptual study aims to develop a theoretically grounded framework that aligns Project-Based Learning (PjBL) with processes of spiritual competence development in PAI. Employing an integrative literature review of contemporary scholarship (2015–2025), the study synthesizes perspectives from Islamic educational philosophy, experiential learning theory, and transformative learning theory. The findings indicate that spiritual competence comprises transcendental awareness, value appreciation, and moral–behavioral actualization. Furthermore, the stages of PjBL—problem identification, planning, implementation, and reflection—can be systematically mapped onto progressive processes of spiritual formation when guided by explicit ethical orientation and reflective practice. The study contributes by reconceptualizing PjBL as spiritual pedagogy rather than merely an active-learning strategy. Although conceptual in nature and not empirically tested, the proposed framework provides theoretical advancement and practical direction for PAI educators seeking to design experience-based spiritual learning. Future empirical studies are recommended to validate the framework across diverse educational contexts.
Pawit Rohmat Cahyono, Robingun Suyud El Syam, Muhtar Sofwan Hidayat Copyright (c) 2026 Pawit Rohmat Cahyono, Robingun Suyud El Syam, Muhtar Sofwan Hidayat http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2705 Mon, 16 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Curriculum Dynamics and Existence of PAI: Challenges and Synergy Opportunities in Strengthening Student Character https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2809
Islamic Religious Education (IRE) within the national education system faces structural challenges that are both technical-curricular and ideological-pedagogical. This study analyzes the dynamics of IRE's existence and formulates a synergistic model to strengthen student character development through a Literature Review of 13 selected articles using a Critical Content Analysis lens. Findings reveal that technical challenges include limited instructional time and overlapping values across subjects. Meanwhile, more fundamental ideological challenges stem from the epistemological dichotomy between religious and general sciences and the dominance of transmissive teaching ("banking education"). Consequently, this study proposes the Theme-Based Reciprocal Synergy Model. This model positions IRE and general subjects in a dialogical relationship through cross-subject thematic integration, pedagogical collaboration (team teaching), and holistic character assessment via portfolios. Theoretically, it strengthens the paradigm of knowledge integration, while practically providing an applicable operational framework for character education within the national curriculum by considering teacher administration policy reforms.
Marwal Blantara Susetyo, Agus Fakhruddin, Helmy Abdullah Helmy, Mifta Ghina Dzakiya , Muhammad Fahri Ali Husaeni Copyright (c) 2026 Marwal Blantara Susetyo, Agus Fakhruddin http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2809 Mon, 16 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Approval Of Sirri Marriage From The Perspective Of Islamic Law And State Law And Its Influence On The Position Of Wife, Children, And Property https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2871
Unregistered marriage (nikah sirri) is a complex legal phenomenon in Indonesia, as it is considered valid under Islamic law but not recognized by state law due to a lack of registration. This research aims to analyze the impact of unregistered marriages on the status of wives, children, and property from the perspectives of Islamic law and Indonesian positive law. The method used is normative juridical research with conceptual, legislative, and fiqh approaches. Primary data sources include Law Number 1 of 1974 on Marriage, the Compilation of Islamic Law, and the Quran and Hadith, while secondary data are derived from relevant academic literature. The findings show that according to Islamic law, an unregistered marriage that fulfills the pillars and requirements is valid, thus wives, children, and property have the same status as registered marriages. However, under Indonesian positive law, unregistered marriages have no legal force because they are not registered at the Office of Religious Affairs or Civil Registry Office, resulting in wives lacking legal protection of their rights, children only having civil relations with their mothers, and joint property cannot be submitted to court without marriage confirmation (itsbat nikah). This research recommends the need for socialization on the importance of marriage registration and stricter law enforcement to protect the rights of women and children.
Chafidzul Hakim Noer, Dahlan Thamrin, Budi Parmono Copyright (c) 2026 Chafidzul Hakim Noer, Dahlan Thamrin, Budi Parmono http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2871 Wed, 18 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Evaluation of the Distance Learning Learning Model of the Priority Program of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2887
This study aims to evaluate the distance learning model implemented under the Priority Program of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of online learning documents. The findings indicate that the distance learning model at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon integrates multiple approaches, including synchronous, asynchronous, blended learning, and collaborative models supported by a Learning Management System (LMS). This model has proven effective in enhancing accessibility and flexibility in Islamic religious education, as well as encouraging a paradigm shift toward student-centered learning. Nevertheless, the study also identifies several challenges, such as limited access to technology, inadequate internet connectivity, reduced social interaction, and issues related to students’ mental and emotional readiness. The study concludes that while the distance learning model is relatively effective in achieving the objectives of religious education, it requires stronger institutional policies, increased faculty capacity building, and sustained pedagogical innovation.
Moh. Elementary schools, as the foundation of formal education, have a strategic role in instilling moral, spiritual, and social values in an integrated manner. This study aims to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of Islamic values-based character education at SD Negeri No. 107463 Paya Pasir. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results showed that character education based on Islamic values was implemented in an integrated manner through classroom learning, habit-forming activities, school culture, and extracurricular programs. This implementation is quite effective in shaping students' character, especially in terms of religiosity, honesty, discipline, responsibility, social awareness, leadership, and ethical decision-making skills in everyday life. The success of the program is supported by teachers' exemplary behavior, consistent religious habits, reinforcement of rules and behavior monitoring, and a conducive school climate. However, the study also found challenges in the form of differences in the family backgrounds of students, which affected the consistency of character behavior. These findings confirm that Islamic values-based character education in public elementary schools has strong potential to shape ethical and responsible behavior, provided that there is continuous synergy between schools and families.
Muhammad Azam Purba, Indra Prasetia, Amini Amini Copyright (c) 2026 Amini Amini, Muhammad Azam Purba, Indra Prasetia http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2893 Mon, 23 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Strengthening Academic Digitalization Policies to Enhance Student Service Quality at State Islamic Universities https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2868
The strengthening of academic digitalization policies is a process of improving student services through the utilization of digital technology. Student academic activities encompassing learning, research, and academic administration are facilitated by digital platforms to help ensure the quality of graduates. These fundamental needs can transform services for the better, provided that digital infrastructure, specifically internet networks, servers, applications, and data security, is well-established. Conversely, if these basic services fail to meet quality standards, it will result in a decline in student quality. In this context, strengthening policies to undertake digital transformation in order to fulfill student academic services is a timely and strategic breakthrough. This study aims to critically analyze the strengthening of academic digitalization amidst the era of disruption, specifically at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, in enhancing student quality. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were obtained through in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and participant observation. The primary data sources consist of institutional documents, particularly those concerning the strengthening of academic digitalization policies. The research results indicate that strengthening academic digitalization policies contributes significantly to maximizing service quality through the implementation of 'new ways of working.' This is achieved through digital innovation for academic and administrative efficiency, accountable budget allocation within the RKAKL to expand service access, and the university's mission to integrate science and Islam across all learning policies and administrative services for students. These findings confirm that leadership policy reinforcement through digital technology can address internal challenges while simultaneously enhancing the competitive quality of UIN graduates in the global arena.
Muh. This study aims to evaluate the linguistic suitability of fifth-grade Arabic textbooks published by Nur Hidayah Press in accordance with the guidelines set by the Education Curriculum and Assessment Standards Agency (BSKAP). This research uses a qualitative descriptive methodology through library research. Data were collected through documentation methods by analyzing the linguistic elements of the textbooks, including grammatical accuracy, terminology consistency, sentence clarity, and linguistic simplicity, using twelve linguistic feasibility metrics provided by BSKAP. The results showed that the textbook received a total score of 35 out of 48 (72,92%), categorized as acceptable. Although it generally complied with language standards, there were several shortcomings in terminology consistency, sentence complexity, and instruction clarity. Specific language changes are needed to improve readability, consistency, and instruction clarity for better learning outcomes.
Jovial Elitahari, Naifah Naifah Copyright (c) 2026 Jovial Elitahari, Naifah Naifah http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2890 Wed, 25 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Strengthening The Religious Character Education Program For Students Through Islamic Values https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2894
This study examines the strengthening of students’ religious character education through Islamic values at SD Negeri 106232 Penggalangan. The research is grounded in the growing concern over moral decline, low discipline, and weakening spiritual awareness among elementary students, and the limited empirical studies in public primary schools. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that religious character education is implemented in a planned, structured, and sustainable manner through the integration of school culture, written policies, teacher role modeling, and religious habituation activities. These practices contribute to improvements in students’ self-control, discipline, responsibility, worship orderliness, and social interactions. Supporting factors include a strong school culture, teacher exemplarity, and parental involvement, while constraints involve limited time and students’ diverse backgrounds. This study contributes empirical evidence that Islamic values can effectively strengthen religious character education in public primary schools when implemented comprehensively and consistently.
Fitriyadi Purba, Indra Prasetia, Amini Amini Copyright (c) 2026 Fitriyadi Purba, Indra Prasetia, Amini Amini http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2894 Wed, 25 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Use of the Course Review Horay Learning Model with Bingo Media to Improve Students' Understanding of Islamic Religious Education Learning Materials https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2862
Islamic Religious Education learning plays an important role in shaping students' religious understanding, attitudes, and behavior. However, the PAI learning process in schools still tends to be teacher-centered, so students' understanding of the material has not developed optimally. This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' understanding and to determine students' responses to the application of the Course Review Horay (CRH) learning model with Bingo media in IRE learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 41 ninth-grade students at one of the public junior high schools in Bandung Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through understanding tests and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed an increase in students' understanding after the application of the CRH learning model with Bingo media. The average pretest score of 76.83 increased to 87.80 in the posttest, and all students achieved learning mastery. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (Asymp. Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), while the N-Gain results were in the moderate category. In addition to improving understanding, this study also provided a positive response to the implementation of this learning model, although several obstacles were still encountered in the initial stages of implementation and student learning independence. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Course Review Horay learning model using Bingo media is effective in improving student understanding and is suitable for use in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning with improvements in the management of learning implementation.
Indri Retno Wijayanti, Mokh. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, variance homogeneity test (Levene Test), and hypothesis testing using Independent Sample t-test and ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average learning outcome of the experimental class was 84.32, which was higher than that of the control class, which was 71.56. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and the hypothesis test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (Sig. < 0.05), so it can be concluded that the Card Sort learning model and learning style had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of Fiqh subjects at MAS Al Ishlahiyah Binjai.
Ryan Fahmi, Indra Prasetia, Amini Amini Copyright (c) 2026 Ryan Fahmi, Indra Prasetia, Amini Amini http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2901 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Traces of Orientalism in the Construction of Modern Islamic Science https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2747
This study examines traces of Orientalism in the construction of modern Islamic scholarship as an epistemological issue in contemporary Islamic studies. The main focus of the study is to identify how categories of knowledge, standards of truth, and scholarly authority regarding Islam are formed, institutionalised, and reproduced in modern academic traditions. The research uses a qualitative method based on a literature study with a historical-critical approach to academic texts from three traditions: classical Orientalists, post-Orientalist thinkers, and Muslim scholars. The data are analysed comparatively to trace patterns of continuity and transformation of epistemic categories used in Islamic studies. The results show that modern Islamic studies operate within the framework of epistemic categories such as objectivity, historicism, textual criticism, and scientific methodology rooted in Western scientific traditions. Islamic scientific traditions tend to gain academic legitimacy to the extent that they can be translated or harmonised with these categories. The dominance of Orientalism is therefore not only a historical legacy but also works structurally through the university system, curriculum, and mechanisms of publication and global scientific legitimacy. This study contributes by systematically mapping these epistemic mechanisms, thereby expanding the analysis of Orientalism from the level of discourse representation to the level of operational structures in contemporary academic practice
Ahmad Hidir Amin, Hamdanah Hamdanah, Mazrur Mazrur Copyright (c) 2026 Ahmad Hidir Amin, Hamdanah Hamdanah, Mazrur Mazrur http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2747 Tue, 03 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Revitalization Of Strengthening Students’ Religious Literacy Through The Development Of Women’s Fiqh Study https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2886
This study examines a religious literacy learning model based on women’s fiqh with the integration of digital literacy in vocational education at SMK Islam Sudirman 1, Ambarawa. The study focuses on strengthening students’ understanding of menstruation, postpartum bleeding, and istihāḍah (non-menstrual bleeding) as essential aspects of women’s worship practices. Initial observations indicate that students’ understanding remains limited to basic rules without a deeper explanation of biological conditions and their implications for religious practice. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. There were 33 informants, consisting of a principal, two Islamic Religious Education teachers, and 30 female students from grades X–XII. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation over a two-month implementation period. Data analysis was conducted thematically through stages of data organisation, interpretation, and meaning construction. The findings reveal improvements in five dimensions of religious literacy: cognitive, analytical, affective, psychomotor, and epistemic. Students demonstrate a better ability to explain legal foundations, distinguish biological conditions, and determine worship practices more accurately. The integration of menstrual cycle tracking applications and digital fiqh texts supports access to reliable religious references. Supporting factors include school policy support, the presence of female teachers, dialogic learning approaches, and the availability of digital learning resources. Limiting factors include restricted access to technological devices, student fatigue, and initial discomfort when discussing sensitive topics.
Khoirul Ismah, Uswatun Chasanah, Ayep Rosidi Copyright (c) 2026 Khoirul Ismah, Uswatun Chasanah, Ayep Rosidi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2886 Thu, 05 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Implementation Of Islamic Religious Education Through Religious Culture In Schools https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2769
This study investigates the implementation of Islamic Religious Education through religious culture in two public schools with distinct characteristics: SMAN 9 Garut (general senior high school) and SMKN 7 Garut (vocational high school). Employing a qualitative, descriptive case study approach, the research explores how religious culture is developed, its supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on students' religious character. Findings reveal that both schools utilize routine, incidental, and daily cultural programs, demonstrating similarities in execution while adapting to their specific contexts. Success factors include strong leadership commitment and active IRE teacher involvement, whereas challenges stem from varying student motivation and limited non-IRE teacher engagement. Notably, SMKN 7 Garut faces additional constraints due to facility limitations and demanding vocational schedules. The study concludes that religious culture significantly shapes students' character across spiritual, social, academic, and vocational dimensions, offering an adaptive model for IRE integration and practical recommendations for educational administrators
Indra Iskandar, Fitriyani Kosasih Copyright (c) 2026 Indra Iskandar, Fitriyani Kosasih http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2769 Sat, 07 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Implementation of the Iqro Method in Overcoming Difficulties in Learning to Read the Qur'an for Students https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2892
This study examines the implementation of the Iqro' method to improve the Qur'an reading skills of fourth-grade students at an Integrated Islamic Elementary School. The study was motivated by low Qur'an literacy among students, particularly in recognizing hijaiyah letters, mastering harakat, and applying basic tajwid rules. The objectives of this research were to describe the initial reading ability, analyze the factors causing difficulties, evaluate the effectiveness of the Iqro' method, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, involving 28 students, 3 teachers, 1 principal, and 5 parents. The findings indicate that the gradual implementation of the Iqro' method through sorogan and talaqi significantly improved students' Qur'an literacy, with an increase of 48–50%. The study emphasizes that individualized learning, parental involvement, and teacher guidance are crucial for effective Qur'an reading instruction. The contribution of this study is providing empirical evidence on the effectiveness of the Iqro' method in the context of Islamic elementary schools and highlighting practical strategies for teachers and parents. The results suggest that strengthening the Iqro' method positively impacts Qur'an literacy, serving as an essential reference for developing more effective Qur'an education practices.
Lilik Maulidiyah, Khaeruddin Yusuf, Irawan Hadi Patangu Copyright (c) 2026 Lilik Maulidiyah, Khaeruddin Yusuf, Irawan Hadi Patangu http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2892 Mon, 09 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Influence of Cash and Non-Cash Transactions on Al-Jihad Mosque Al-Jihad Medan Baru Al-Jihad Mosque Congregation Decisions https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2918
The development of financial technology has encouraged mosques to adopt non-cash transaction systems in managing infaq. This research employed a qualitative approach using a field research design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving twelve key informants representing the Syuriyah council, Tanfidziyah executive board, and the Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education Institution (LPTNU) of PCNU Bandung City. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, member checking, and prolonged engagement in the field. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the absence of a physical higher education institution directly managed by PCNU Bandung City does not indicate complete institutional stagnation. Instead, it represents an internal consolidation strategy adopted by the organization. PCNU Bandung City prioritizes strengthening human resource capacity through the PD-PKPNU cadre development program, academic resource mapping, and the maturation of institutional design before accelerating physical infrastructure development. The SWOT analysis indicates that the organization’s primary strengths lie in its strong mass base and the authority of ulama figures, while its weaknesses relate to financial independence and uneven managerial capacity. Therefore, the current incubation phase is interpreted as a defensive-rational strategy to transform socio-cultural capital into professional institutional capacity in order to face the intense competition of higher education in urban settings
Mifta Ghina Dzakiya, Neng Zahra Nafisa, Khoerunnisa Khoerunnisa, Irfan Ahmad Zain Copyright (c) 2026 Mifta Ghina Dzakiya, Neng Zahra Nafisa, Khoerunnisa Khoerunnisa, Irfan Ahmad Zain http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2810 Tue, 10 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Principal's Leadership Style and Implications for Improving the Performance of PAI Teachers https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2922
School principals play a central role in school management and influence teacher performance, including Islamic Education (PAI) teachers who not only teach subject matter but also instill religious values in students. This study aims to systematically examine the empirical and conceptual evidence regarding the implementation of AI-based digital learning in strengthening students’ understanding of Islamic values, particularly among Generation Z learners in Muhammadiyah senior high schools. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by Kitchenham and Charters (2007) and the PRISMA framework, 28 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2025 were analysed from the Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, and Google Scholar databases. The findings indicate that AI applications such as adaptive learning systems, generative chatbots (e.g., ChatGPT), AI-based multimedia, and augmented reality significantly improve cognitive learning outcomes, student engagement, and critical thinking skills. However, the majority of studies emphasise measurable academic performance, while ethical considerations, theological validation, and character formation remain underexplored. This imbalance reveals a conceptual gap between technological efficiency and the holistic objectives of Islamic education. The study concludes that AI integration in PAI must be repositioned as a value-sensitive pedagogical instrument rather than merely a cognitive enhancement tool. Effective implementation requires ethical supervision, interpretative guidance, and alignment with Islamic educational philosophy to ensure balanced intellectual, moral, and spiritual development in the digital era.
Ellisa Fitri Tanjung, Nurman Ginting; Nursakinah Nasution Copyright (c) 2026 Ellisa Fitri Tanjung, Nurman Ginting; Nursakinah Nasution http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2928 Fri, 13 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Behavioral Leadership of Madrasah Principals Towards Improving Teacher Performance https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2616
This study is situated within the discipline of educational leadership, specifically focusing on the behavioural leadership perspective, which emphasises leaders’ observable actions in guiding and influencing their subordinates. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, strengthened by source triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings reveal that the principal applies two core dimensions of behavioural leadership: task orientation and relationship orientation. Task orientation is reflected in structured instructions, systematic workflow arrangements, and consistent supervision of academic programmes, while relationship orientation appears in personal attention, open communication, and continuous moral support. These dimensions foster a supportive work climate, enhance teacher motivation, and strengthen professional commitment. Accelerated technological innovation, intensified cultural interaction, and increasing global competition have significantly reshaped educational systems worldwide. Consequently, Islamic educational institutions are challenged to modernize their structures and practices while preserving their theological foundations and moral commitments. This research applies a qualitative library-based methodology, drawing upon contemporary educational theories, Islamic pedagogical traditions, and policy frameworks on quality assurance and institutional development. The findings reveal that improving educational quality in Islamic institutions requires a multidimensional strategy. Key dimensions include curriculum transformation aligned with global standards, continuous professional development for teachers, effective digital integration, transparent and accountable governance, and character education grounded in Islamic ethical values. Strengthening visionary leadership, implementing outcome-based education models, and fostering integration between religious sciences and modern disciplines are essential to achieving global competitiveness. Moreover, Islamic education must cultivate critical thinking, intellectual openness, moderation (wasatiyyah), intercultural dialogue, and ethical responsibility to respond constructively to globalization. Sustainable quality enhancement depends on stakeholder collaboration, pedagogical innovation, and systematic evaluation. Previous studies generally focused on pedagogical aspects, without examining the epistemological assumptions underlying the way texts are understood. This study aims to reconstruct the epistemology of PAI learning through Naṣr Ḥāmid Abū Zayd’s hermeneutics and the maʿnā–cum–maghzā approach within the context of a Love-Based Curriculum. This research employs a qualitative approach based on text analysis with a philosophical hermeneutical framework. The primary data come from Abū Zayd's works (Mafhūm al-Naṣṣ and Naqd al-Khiṭāb al-Dīnī), which are analyzed through textual identification, conceptual extraction, and hermeneutical interpretation, and then mapped comparatively with the maʿnā–cum–maghzā methodology. The research findings indicate that (1) the Qur’an is constructed as a historical-linguistic discourse formed in a dialectical relationship with social reality; (2) revelation functions as a communicative process involving text, context, and the reader; and (3) the distinction between al-maʿnā and al-maghzā serves as an epistemological mechanism that enables a balance between the reconstruction of historical meaning and the production of contextual significance. Based on these findings, the study identifies an epistemological shift from a transmission-based learning model toward a dialogical-interpretative process that positions learners as active epistemic subjects. These findings imply that without an epistemological reconstruction, value-based approaches such as the Love-Based Curriculum risk remaining merely affective, making the integration of Abū Zayd’s hermeneutics crucial for developing reflective and contextual Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning
Muhdi Ali, Ade Fakih Kurniawan, Iffan Ahmad Gufron Copyright (c) 2026 Muhdi Ali, Ade Fakih Kurniawan, Iffan Ahmad Gufron http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2929 Thu, 02 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Use of Augmeted Reality as an Innovative Learning Media for Fiqh Material https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2895
In the process of knowledge transfer, innovation in learning media is needed to understand the context of fiqh material, to support teachers in delivering teaching content. This study was conducted in two cycles (Cycle I and Cycle II). Data collection used observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively by calculating the percentage of average achievement of attitudes. The criteria for success of the action were determined if the average percentage reached the High category (minimum 70%). The achievement of empathy and social attitudes showed a significant increase. At the Pre-Cycle stage, the achievement of empathy was 44% and social attitudes 46% (Low Category). Following improvements in Cycle II, which emphasized children's active interaction in the story, achievement increased sharply, reaching 77% for empathy and 78% for social attitudes. These figures exceeded the established success criteria. The application of interactive and contextual storytelling has proven effective in improving empathy and social attitudes in Group A early childhood children at ABA 1 Kindergarten in Madiun City. This method is recommended for continued use in stimulating social-emotional development in early childhood education settings
Sri Yatimah, Ibadullah Malawi Copyright (c) 2026 Sri Yatimah, Ibadullah Malawi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2722 Sun, 05 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Effectiveness of the Inside-Outside Circle Learning Model in Improving Students' Learning Motivation in Islamic Religious Education at Secondary Schools https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2935
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Inside-Outside Circle (IOC) learning model in improving students' learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education at the junior secondary school level. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Senduro, divided into an experimental group (n=30) and a control group (n=30). The experimental group was taught using the IOC model, while the control group received conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through a Likert-scale learning motivation questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability (α=0.87). Data analysis used a paired sample t-test and an independent sample t-test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that the experimental group experienced an increase in motivation scores from 62.10 to 79.43, while the control group increased from 61.87 to 66.21. Statistical tests indicated a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05) with an effect size of 1.25 (large category). These findings indicate that the IOC model is effective in increasing students' learning motivation through structured interaction and active participation. This study recommends the implementation of the IOC model as an alternative for more interactive learning strategies in Islamic religious education.
Wardah Wardah, Moh. This classroom action research employed Kemmis and McTaggart's spiral model, conducted in two cycles with 19 children as research subjects. Problem identification showed that only 12% of students achieved the Very Well Developed (BSB) category in social literacy at the pre-cycle stage. Data were collected through triangulation using observation sheets and picture questionnaires with assessment rubrics on a scale of 1-4 referring to early childhood education assessment criteria. The success criterion was set at 80% of students achieving at least the Developing as Expected (BSH) category. The results showed significant improvement in social literacy from 37% (pre-cycle) to 65% (cycle I) and 88% (cycle II), with a total increase of 51%. Learning interest increased from 37% to 62% (cycle I) and 82% (cycle II), with a total increase of 45%. Key modifications in cycle II, including transforming flipbooks into game-based learning and implementing sociodramatic play, proved effective in increasing active participation and internalisation of social values. This study concludes that the synergy between play methods and interactive flipbook media can transform passive learning environments into dynamic and motivating interaction spaces for early childhood
Dian Susilowati, Muhammad Hanif, Sudarmiani Sudarmiani Copyright (c) 2026 Dian Susilowati, Muhammad Hanif, Sudarmiani Sudarmiani http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2806 Tue, 07 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Internalization of Pesantren Educational Values in Community Social Life https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2948
Islamic boarding schools are one of the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, which play an important role in shaping religious and social values within society. In contemporary educational management discourse, neoliberalism emphasizes the principles of efficiency, accountability, competition, and performance orientation, which have the potential to influence the governance of educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the neoliberal paradigm and value orientation and managerial practices at the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School in West Bandung. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method using a questionnaire compiled based on research variable indicators. The research sample consisted of 35 respondents selected using probability sampling techniques. Data analysis was performed using SPSS through the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the Spearman Rank nonparametric correlation test. The results showed that the neoliberal paradigm has a positive and significant relationship with value orientation (r = 0.401; Sig = 0.017), but has a weak and insignificant positive relationship with management practices (r = 0.308; Sig = 0.072). In addition, value orientation has a strong and significant relationship with management practices (r = 0.682; Sig = 0.000). These findings indicate that the influence of neoliberalism is selective, where Islamic educational values remain a dominant factor in the management practices of Islamic educational institutions
Ahmad Andy Setiady, Irawan Irawan, Rohmat Mulyana Sapdi Copyright (c) 2026 Ahmad Andy Setiady, Irawan Irawan, Rohmat Mulyana Sapdi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2778 Thu, 09 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Boarding School Management in Developing the Character of Students of the Al-Ihmy Al-Qur'an Tahfidz House Foundation in Medan https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2976
This research is motivated by the problem of moral decadence which is a strategic issue, therefore it needs to be addressed based on precise and accurate data. Using a case study design, this study dissects the orchestration of the five pillars of management: curriculum, leadership, teacher competence, student engagement, and digital mitigation. The findings show that the transformative leadership of school principals is a determinant pillar or "heart" of the organization that synchronizes institutional policies with the local wisdom of "True Brotherhood". The main innovation of this research is the "Participatory Harmony-Based Inclusive Management" model, which introduces the Harmony Audit instrument for real-time detection of latent friction. The results of the intervention showed an increase in students' cognitive resilience scores by 32% and a 30% decrease in exposure to radical narratives through the "narrative immunization" strategy in digital literacy. In addition, the transformation of the teacher's dialogical pedagogy increased the effectiveness of class discussions by 40%, while the engineering of the extracurricular ecosystem successfully mitigated the phenomenon of "voluntary segregation". The theoretical implications confirm that the total integration of managerial authority, cultural intelligence, and digital mitigation is a systemic solution to create a cohesive and resilient school ecosystem in the era of information disruption
Moh. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research design by systematically reviewing relevant scientific sources, including national and international journal articles, academic books, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that SWOT analysis plays a strategic role in identifying internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) as well as external factors (opportunities and threats) that influence the performance and competitiveness of educational institutions. The implementation of SWOT functions not only as a planning tool but also as an adaptive managerial framework that responds to policy changes, technological advancements, and global demands. Strategies derived from the SWOT matrix (SO, WO, ST, WT) contribute to improving learning quality, strengthening human resource capacity, optimizing the use of digital technology, and enhancing institutional reputation within the community. However, this study also reveals that the application of SWOT remains largely conceptual and has not been fully contextualized at the school level. Therefore, a more operational, integrative, and data-driven approach is required for its effective implementation. This research contributes to the field of educational management by providing an applicable conceptual framework based on SWOT analysis
Chelsi Hestivik, Yosi Fadila, Srikandi Yudistira, Muhammad Syaifuddin Copyright (c) 2026 Chelsi Hestivik, Yosi Fadila, Srikandi Yudistira, Muhammad Syaifuddin http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2573 Tue, 21 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Islamic Business Ethics in the Digital Age: An Analysis of the Principles of Honesty and Transparency in E-Commerce https://pondokjurnal.uwj.ac.id/index.php/UrwatulWutsqo/article/view/2586
This study aims to analyse the application of Islamic business ethics principles, particularly honesty and transparency, in e-commerce practices in the digital era.
